INGREDIENTS
Tofu
- 1 package tofu, drained and cubed
(use firm or extra firm for a meat replacement, or soft for a fried cheese texture) - Gourmet Warehouse Sesame Ginger Marinade to cover
Batter
- ¼ cup rice flour1 egg, beaten
- 2 tbsp rice wine vinegar
- Garlic, salt, and pepper to taste
- Vegetable oil for frying
INSTRUCTIONS
Drain the tofu and pat dry, cube into bite sized pieces
Place cubed tofu in a sealable bowl or zip top bag, cover with Gourmet Warehouse Sesame Ginger marinade, and place in the refrigerator to marinade for at least an hour. (The longer the marinade time, the better the flavor. We suggest overnight.) In a medium skillet or pot heat the oil or 350 degrees, or until a piece of bread dropped into the oil cools through in 1 minute.
Combine rice flour, vinegar, egg, salt, and pepper in a medium bowl. Remove cubed tofu from the marinade and coat in batter mixture.
Carefully add the battered tofu to the oil and fry for approximately 3 minutes, or until golden brown, turning as needed.
Remove to a paper towel lined plate to drain, plate, and enjoy! This recipe is a great side dish to our Sesame Ginger Ramen.
